 The Peel Retrospective

The Peel Literature & Arts Review, or more affectionately known just as “The Peel” is Appalachian State University’s literary arts magazine and provides App State poets, writers, and artists a voice to be heard far and wide.  For the past eight years The Peel has been “cultivating creative expression” across App State’s campus and their influence can be recognized in  print and online, as well as related exhibitions and events. In the past few years, The Peel has garnered national attention through winning the Pacemaker and Pinnacle awards. These awards present the best collegiate media organizations and individuals in the country through judgment by industry professionals.  In conjunction with The Peel and some of its alumni, the Turchin Center is creating a participatory exhibition that allows the viewer to seek their way through the evolution of The Peel, and find student expression among the nation’s preeminent literary arts magazines.
